20 Mar
In a big blow to the NYC jazz community, Somethin’ Jazz Club is closing its doors permanently at the end of this month. Over 20,000 musicians have played the club since its inception, and its closing will leave a large hole in the live music landscape here in NYC.
New York Jazz Academy has been invited by club management to produce one last concert there, and it’s going to be SUPER-SIZED! Most importantly, you are invited to attend, and if you (or someone you know) want to play, please come and celebrate by joining the Open Jam Session at the end of the concert.
We will be featuring over 100 performers, including nearly 9 hours of music over the course of the day. For complete information, please see below. If you are in NYC this weekend, I do hope you’ll stop by.
Sincerely,
Javier Arau
Program Director
